Colour Run #ColourMeHappy

colour run, live in carers, disability access

This year our Senior Care Manager – Wilfrid, Care Manager – Dawn and Care Coordinator – Elise, all took part in the Colour Run alongside our Clients and one of our Live in Care Assistants.

They each met early in the day to get ready and warm up for the event together and we can tell from their photos what a great day they had joining in all the fun in the London Colour Run.

The colour run is a 5K walk or run which celebrates health and happiness. Presented by Skittles, participants in the run are showered with different colours as they pass each kilometre and complete the 5k course. Described as ‘the Happiest 5k’ run, it promises ‘big smiles and the most colourful day you’ll ever have’ and it certainly looked like our team had an amazing time.

Starting in clean white t-shirts, headbands and sunglasses, each of them were covered in paint throughout the day. The course is relatively flat and across marked roads throughout the course which makes it wheelchair friendly and accessible for everyone. At the end of the course, a colour festival with DJ’s MC’s and even more colour throws is held for the finishers.

It’s such a great day and a fantastic event bringing together friends to have fun, get messy and keep fit!
