The ENA Care Group has been providing solely Live in Care to individuals who need a little extra assistance in order to live independently within their own home since 1994. Founded in Hertfordshire, we can provide fully trained carers nationwide to people at home. With our vast experience providing full time care, you’ll notice the difference in the professional support we can offer our Clients nationwide.
Our Head Office Care Team includes Healthcare Professionals such as Registered Nurses and an Occupational Therapist who support our Clients and our Carers in work. Our Recruitment Team are experienced in finding caring individuals who make an asset to our team of Carers and our HR Team take care of all the paperwork involved in taking care of our employees and ensuring they’re safe to work so you don’t need to worry.

What is Live in Care?
Live in care is a service where a care assistant lives with a client within their own home. Often, a client who requires a live in carer will need assistance with daily activities such as getting washed and dressed, helping in and out of bed, cooking meals, companionship and driving to social activities or appointments.
A basic live in care service is a care assistant who provides 6-8 hours of care over a flexible 24-hour period. If you require more than this, we can provide additional live-in carers who can ensure your care is covered throughout the day and night. Live in care services are tailored to each client so specifically what a live in care service includes, will be completely up to you. It can be from anything from short term to full-time 24 hour care. A trained live in care assistant can also help clients with more specialist requirements such as manual handling, peg feeding, catheter care, personal care and tracheostomy care.

We take the time to listen to each individual and develop a care plan around their needs and what they require from a carer and service provider in order to remain as independent as they please. We have taken on board and developed ideas from those that really know about care and what a care service should provide – our clients. From working alongside these individuals for the past 20 years and developing great relationships with them, we are proud of the things which make our service ‘specialist’:
A Qualified Care Team including Registered Nurses and an Occupational Therapist who support and manage each placement.
Our Care Team are qualified healthcare professionals which means our clients can receive expert help and advice at home from registered nurses and an occupational therapist. Our Care Team also work alongside our clients’ GPs, Physios, Hospital Teams and Social Workers to ensure our clients get the most from the support available to them. Furthermore, our Care Team support our carers in work so our carers have access to qualified support whenever they require it.
A Team of On-Call Emergency Carers who can step in at a moments notice
Our On-Call Carers are highly experienced carers who have worked with us for some time and with a variety of different individuals. Should something go amiss, we have a team of on-call carers who can step in at short notice to ensure your care is covered.
24/7 Fast Response Service
We offer a 24/7 urgent response line which will put you in touch with an on-call Co-ordinator at any time of the day or night should you need them. This ensures our clients and carers are supported by a member of our team any time of the day or night.
Robust Background and Safety Check
We hold high expectations of our live in care staff which must be met before carers are asked to join our team. Our live in care assistants must first pass our rigorous recruitment process. This includes a 5day training course which tests their care skills, driving skills and english language skills plus an extensive background check. Live in Carers must provide previous work history, work and character references and obtain a clear DBS check and ISA to ensure they are safe to work with all vulnerable adults.
Highly Trained Care assistants
Our care assistants are trained to a high level in; personal care, nursing care and manual handling. They can also assist with more specialist care needs such as suctioning, peg feeding, tracheostomy care, catheter care, spinal injury care, elderly care and end of life care. Our carers must pass an external driving test to ensure a good standard and continually update their training. They also work alongside other healthcare professionals such as physios, OTs and speech and language therapists to assist at home where possible.
Care Assistants who commit to 6-12 week placements
Inviting a new person into your home can be a daunting and inconvenient task. We ask our carers to commit to 6-12 week placements to promote continuity and help our clients build a working relationship with their carer. Our longer placements also help offer our clients additional flexibility as they can plan weeks in advance with a carer who understands and has familiarised themselves with their client’s routine and care needs.

Designated Care Co-ordinator
Our care managers work with you to find a suitable carer to live in your home assisting with your live in care needs. Care managers also work hard to match the right skill set, which may include a carer who can drive or a carer who has particular experience or training. Your designated care manager will aim to send you a selection of carer profiles of whom they think may suit you in your home and it is simply up to you to pick and choose one.

An example of roles a live-in carer is trained to undertake:
- Personal Care – i.e. bathing, washing, teeth cleaning, hair care, nail care, foot care, eye care etc. as appropriate
- Assistance with dressing and undressing as required
- Daily exercise, often as directed by the physiotherapist
- Assistance with mealtimes as required
- Helping the client in and out of bed or wheelchair using a hoist where applicable
- Mobility assistance, including manual handling transfers and pushing wheelchairs
- Drivers to attend recreational activities or appointments
- Encouragement to maintain their independence within their limitations
- Establish a rapport with the client by giving support and having regard for the clients needs
- Encouragement to use prescribed equipment and assist with the use of the equipment when authorised by the Care Manager/Care Coordinator or a registered healthcare professional
- Contact a doctor, emergency services or make appointments
- Administration of prescribed medications
- Prepare and cook meals
- Help with general housework, cleaning and domestic tasks to maintain a high quality of living which the client may not ordinarily achieve without assistance
- Toileting, assisting with bowel and bladder management, fitting of urinary devices and dealing with incontinence management (in some cases)
