Having a live-in spinal injury care assistant can offer you the flexibility you need to continue to do the things you want to do. Our clients with spinal injury often have busy social or work routines. They require assistance with their morning routine, driving to appointments and getting in and out of their chair. Our care assistants and PAs are trained in a variety of necessary mobility requirements from transfer boards to hoists.

Specialist Spinal Injury Care Assistant

A specialist spinal injury care assistant is trained to support you with; personal care and mobility transfers including manual handling. They assist with everyday activities such as driving to social visits and helping with light housework. In addition, they are assessed by an external driving company during their training to ensure a good standard. Furthermore some of our assistants commit to 6-12 weeks per placement if required. Because of this, many of our clients have the flexibility to make plans months instead of weeks in advance.

If you need extra assistance with communication or are non-verbal, having a live-in PA could help you communicate with others. As you form a close working relationship, they can develop an understanding of how you communicate.

Each of our spinal injury care assistants complete training that has been overseen and contributed to by our clients with spinal injury. Consequently our spinal injury PAs are knowledgeable in Manual handling, pressure sores and personal care.

What Makes our Care Assistants Specialist

At the ENA Care group, we believe that highly trained and professional care assistants are what makes us stand out from the crowd. Because of this, we hold high expectations of our staff. All carers must pass our training programme before being asked to join our team of care assistants. We take care of ensuring our spinal injury PAs are fully trained. They must have a completed background check and prove they are safe and competent to work. As our spinal injury care assistants are employed by us, we cover holiday and sickness too.  So you don’t need to worry about the legalities of employment. We also offer a 24/7 fast response service which is lead by experienced on-call care assistants who can step in at a moments notice should an emergency arise.

In addition, we have a multi-disciplinary team of care managers working from our head office who are qualified healthcare professionals including registered nurses. This means you are provided with a team of healthcare professionals, a team of stand-by care assistants and an on-call emergency service should anything go amiss.

The ENA Care Group are also corporate members of the Spinal Injury Association and hold events to support and fundraise for the SIA.
