Sonia Thacker

Sonia Thacker

Head of Care

I joined ENA in February 2017. My career in care started many years ago, working as a domiciliary care worker when my children were young. Over the years I have worked hard to develop myself and fully understand the needs of both our clients and our carers. My experience includes managing domiciliary agencies, recruitment of staff to supply the NHS, and managing a 63-bed residential home. I believe that no matter where we are in our life journey, we have a right to quality care when we need it. My aim is to enhance your experience and promote your independence, putting you back in control of your care requirements.

Case Manager — Registered Nursing Associate

I joined ENA in May 2020. Prior to this, I spent my nursing career in a busy Trauma and Orthopedics ward, where I witnessed a huge range of injuries and illnesses and it was there I was able to work my way up from the bottom. Originally, I had looked into becoming a paramedic but somehow fell into nursing. One day I might look into this again, to say I 'have the t-shirt', but I will see where my career takes me and what else I can fall into along the way. In my spare time, I travel up and down the country teaching the next generation of the Royal Air Force. This could include anything from life skills to military skills, preparing people to go into a service or a different career path. I work with a great team in the office and some fantastic carers within my area. I am looking forward to assisting with growing the company and making it the best it can be.

Registered Manager and Founder — Registered Nurse

Co-founder and owner of the ENA Care Group. I am an active director overseeing both the service delivered to clients and carers, and the home-care team. I've been back since March 2012, after taking a ridiculously long maternity break. I jump at any opportunity to get back into uniform and brush up on my nursing skills. My role in the company is all about the service we deliver to both our clients and carers. I have a dream to become the best home-care provider in the UK and I spend most of my time troubleshooting and searching for ways to improve. My favourite part of the job is visiting and speaking to clients and carers alike. If you would like a visit or a call, please do drop me an email.

Gerard Santos

Case Manager

My name is Gerard and I joined the ENA Care Group in June 2018. I have been working in healthcare since 1996. I started as a care assistant and over the years have gradually worked my way up to become a service manager in residential and supported-living care. My background is with adults with learning difficulties and complex needs, which I truly loved. After taking some time out in 2010, I returned to care by trying live-in care as well as office work as an assistant to my then deputy manager. I enjoy my position with ENA immensely, looking after the south of England: Surrey, Hampshire, Kent, and Cambridgeshire. Care is the only thing I know and thrive on so I plan to be around for a long while yet. I love traveling and meeting new people, be it in my private time or for work.

Registered Manager — ENA Hourly Care

I joined ENA in October 2020. Previous to this, I was a registered manager for a domiciliary service and extra care scheme and have only ever worked for two other companies. Over the years, and through hard work and determination, I have gained qualifications and experience and worked my way up to senior positions. I started working in the care sector 11 years ago as a part-time carer, to work around my children, and wish I had come into it sooner as I really enjoy working with the elderly and vulnerable. Although at times it could be hard work, it was also the most rewarding job I have done and I have learned so much history by talking to and listening to clients and their life stories. I have always strived for and worked hard to get the best outcomes for clients and their families, so they have a quality of life they can enjoy and will continue to enjoy here at ENA.

Case Manager

I joined ENA Care group In November 2020. I have been working in the healthcare sector since 2001. It has been an interesting journey with my roles starting as a carer, support worker, nurse auxiliary, and qualified as a registered nurse in 2006. My passion to help others allowed me to continue developing my interest in different areas including general medicine, neurological rehabilitation, palliative care, clinical research, and chemotherapy. Providing safe quality always stands out and has always been a priority hence I then pursued my career and took further education in advanced practice nursing. I have loved all my previous roles and no doubt I have learned a lot, gained a wealth of knowledge and skills which I am happy to share with the team, supporting our carers to provide high standard quality care to our clients. I am so excited to be part of the ENA care group, a team with a vision to expand and lead in providing the best live-in home care as we share the same values of improving the quality of life for our clients whilst living an independent life in the comfort of their homes.

Case Manager

I started my career in care as a Healthcare Assistant back in 2012 with what was supposed to be a temporary role but went on for almost 4 years working across different wards from the busy A&E/ITU units to oncology and dementia care. I knew early on that it was the sense of reward I got from helping others and setting a high standard of care that kept me interested in the care industry and led to several other roles from leading small teams in a care home to studying part of my nursing degree. My most recent position before ENA saw me coordinating complex packages of care for clients based in the community for one of the biggest healthcare providers in the country. In January 2021, I began my journey with ENA as a Case Manager and hope to not only bring with me the knowledge and experience I've gained over the years, but also to learn from my very talented new colleagues to help make ENA as outstanding and progressive as possible. In my spare time, I enjoy making the most of what the West Country has to offer, particularly exploring my new home-city of Bath and spending as much time as possible with my family and friends. I look forward to seeing more of the world, my favourite destination so far was Iceland — it was like walking on another planet.

Recruitment Manager

My name is Catherine and I joined ENA Care Group as recruitment manager in April 2020. My career began in retail many years ago, where I worked my way up to management level before deciding it was time for a career change. I love working with people, being part of a motivated team, and building relationships with those around me. For me, the recruitment process is hugely important to ensure everyone feels welcome and supported throughout their journey from candidate to carer, and I’m excited to play my part in that. In my spare time, I love cooking and entertaining with my husband, I’m often referred to as the hostess in my group of friends and love nothing more than gathering everyone together in our house for a fun games night.

HR Adviser

I have worked in HR for the ENA Care Group for many years and I’m very fortunate that I love the job I do. Each week is unique as I deal with such a variety of people. I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing someone go from applicant to trainee and then on to being a care assistant. I really enjoy supporting our care assistants on this journey and keeping in touch with them when they are in work. It is important to me that we get to know our trainees very much as an individual before placing them in a job that is right, both for them and for their client.
Georgi Balan

Georgi Balan

Recruitment Officer

I started my journey with ENA as a live-in carer and the company has had my back ever since. I continued to work my way up with an on-call position, which allowed me to care for many individuals and showcase my problem-solving skills. I now work in the HR department which helps me find the best carers to join the team! I love the atmosphere of our office and getting to work with such amazing people.

My career began in retail, where I spent six years developing to senior management level. I recently embarked on my MBA at Alliance Manchester Business School and have previously studied with the Chartered Management Institute. My role at the company ensures I lead our team to provide our clients with a personalised care experience. I love to travel – meeting new people, exploring new cultures and countries; swimming with a pod of dolphins in the crystal blue Mauritian ocean was a personal favourite. In my spare time, you’ll find me training at my local running club, Ware Joggers, where I was proud to have run and completed the London Marathon.

Training

Daisy Ingrey

Daisy Ingrey

Training Coordinator

I started working as a training coordinator for ENA in June 2020. I began my career in health and social care by chance. I was young and volunteered at my local charity store to enable individuals who were living with a learning disability to achieve a paid role through the adapted training I provided them. I dedicated the next ten years to gaining knowledge, skills, and experiencing every side of social care — from supported living, learning disabilities to substance misuse, and of course my favourite subject Dementia. I now get to support individuals not only gain the skills to provide quality care, but I also get to see the impact their care has on the individual they care for. I like to engage care staff to acknowledge the importance and value of their role as well as giving them the skills and confidence needed to provide the outstanding care ENA delivers.
Kirsty Grogan

Kirsty Grogan

Training Coordinator

I joined ENA in October 2020 as a training consultant, prior to this I worked in the sector for 10 years. I worked my way up from a domiciliary carer to a manager, from there I found my passion for teaching and became a trainer in the care sector. This combined both my passion for care and teaching others.
What I love most about my role is that I can utilise the skills I learned as a carer in the learning environment and help stretch and challenge learners to develop their own knowledge, skills and confidence in their role. Working at ENA has been an amazing journey so far and that's a testament to the amazing people in my team. I can't wait to see where my career takes me from here.
